A humble jack of all trades living in the southeastern United States. I have a passion for NASCAR and history and this is the place where I decided to combine the two. Hopefully you enjoy my deep-dives into the history of NASCAR and over-analysis of its biggest events and more obscure moments through out the 70+ year history of this fantastic sport that has captured my attention and imagination since before I was even old enough to speak.

Addressing the New NASCAR Copyright Drama
Переглядів 87 тис.5 місяців тому
tl;dr - It’s not NASCAR’s fault that a lot of stuff is getting claimed, it’s a combo of NASCAR Classics’ library and content ID bots trying to protect copyrights. They plan on releasing all claims asap, and any further claims will just be disputed and I should be fine. #NASCAR #UA-cam ✅ If you want to support the channel, you can do so here on Patreon: www.patreon.com/S1apSh0es ✅Or if you just ...

NASCAR and the Dam of Legitimacy
Переглядів 335 тис.6 місяців тому
NASCAR's biggest problem right now is a lack of apparent legitimacy. Ask any oldhead why they don't watch anymore and more often than not, it's the meddling by the sanctioning body that drove them away. It wasn't any one thing but a mountain of bad calls that stretched out for nearly two decades. Let's take a look at how the dam burst wide open #NASCAR ✅ If you want to support the channel, you ...

Note: The AKS-74U suffered from excessive recoil during sustained fire, leading to a less-than-ideal soldier feedback, maybe a Halbeck device of sort is needed.
instead of saying so gives, i guess you could say.. so Gibbs.

Great content and very accurate in this life-long fan's opinion. However, I would also include NASCAR's decision to abandon its southeastern base tracks and all the variations between the tracks that provided much of the "entertainment" you see NASCAR pursuing with its in-race shenanigans. That decision was driven by greed with no respect for the sport. There is a karmic element to this, as dedicated fans like us are seen as dinosaur-like fools while the current crop of fans move on to the next shiney object. I could forgive NASCAR's less objectionable blunders (Petty's 199 and 200th wins) if I could attend a race at a reasonable price at a legitimate (non cookie-cutter) track hoping to see the next Bill Elliot emerge. Without that foundation, your "Dam of Legitimacy" is crumbling at it's hidden foundations.
the amount of innovations we invest in murder.
Ehhh mid video with poor research.
This video is awesome. Thanks for making this.
I personally do not watch nascar racing anymore. The chase sux, the breaks suk, Nascar just plain olll suk. Ive been to Daytona Twice plus the inaugural night race, Ive been to Taledaga twice, Ive been to several Texas races and do not plan on going back or to watch on TV.
anyone watching after the iowa race
The reverse numbers were intentional stop that
It would scare the shit out of me just being amongst the spectators! I mean, the engineers finding fingers and clothes in the cars bodywork!
Formula One lost its mysticism during the early/mid 1990s. Regulations made it Snore-mula One. I think it was after the deaths of several drivers, such as Ayrton Senna and a few others, which instigated a change of the rules... Rally B was scary-mad-as-fuck, HIGHLY SKILLED driving, requiring much more concentration from the driver and passenger! And the spectators were crazy too, with some meeting their fates on race day! 😬😳
And the nato round is smaller so u can carry more
as a mod on a big former james somerton fans discord where were tryna work up his plagiarism and document it the "i had a reupload of james somertons apology on my swcond channel but he struck it do2n so i knew he was alive earlier than most" came out of left field and had me cackling
Maybe the late models are the friends we made along the way
Saw a reaction to it and, given the video quality, it happened many years ago and was obviously no longer allowed. To hear it was so recent is refreshing since Nascar isn't popular where I live
Physics-defying? Pretty sure the only reason it worked was because of the physics involved...
Is Sumo an Olympics sport? If not, then why not!
GMA is only 5 minutes from my home.
If this much attention on your sport can’t be capitalized on to move the needle it’s most likely due to incompetency.
Well Watkins Glen is really like top 20 and it’s probably like 19 or 18th. It’s good but like yeah.
Legitimately in Nascar 😂LOL
That has to be the best time I've had at a track. I helped my buddies there for awhile.
That story about Harry Gant's first test in a Cup car reminds me of a hilarious story about the guy who was the original Stig on Top Gear, Perry Mccarthy. After the disastrous joke of a team he drove for, Andrea Moda, was expelled from F1 towards the end of 1992, he did a test at Silverstone with the Benetton team, who together with future World Champion, Michael Schumacher, were on the rise in 1992. In this test, he took the words of Schumacher a bit too literally, lol. Prior to the test, he asked Schumacher about how he drove the fastest corner on the track at the time, Bridge (an almost flat out right hander taken at roughly 160MPH in the dry). Schumacher told him that he can take Bridge corner flat out, without lifting off the gas. As he explained in his book, "Flat Out, Flat Broke," Mccarthy drove Bridge corner like Schumacher said he could. Though he kept the throttle wide open, he found the car was all over the place, extremely loose. He returned to the pits for a debrief with Schumacher's Race Engineer, Pat Symmonds, who had the look of someone who thought the person they were talking to was absolutely insane. He diplomatically said to Mccarthy, "have a bit of a moment there?" Trying to play dumb, Mccarthy asked what he meant. Symmonds explained that the data showed him taking Bridge corner on full throttle and full opposite lock (in other words, turn the wheel fully to the left in a right hander). Mccarthy told him that Schumacher said he could take Bridge corner flat out. Symmonds responded with the following: "Yes, he does, when he's on new qualifiers (tyres specifically for qualifying) and 3 laps [worth] of fuel. You on the other hand had worn race tyres and half a tank of fuel!" Putting it simply, he didn't have anything like the level of grip available as Schumacher would have done on qualifying laps. Hilarious
That is correct and Bulgaria makes the best of it
I seen this on the news that Pickens county officials said We can have an industrial park here and we can have a racetrack here.”
Why do you say Grand Prix like that

Great series. Sorry I didn't find it before now. Where there's big money, there's always fraud.
Minor error, I’ve actually won the most cup championships.
Nice shirt
No I’ve never
Melbourne in Austrailia (and the state of Victoria in general) is another city with a lot of tracks close to it or inside it. It has Albert Park, Calder Park aka Thunderdome and Sandown and on the outskirts there is Phillip Island and deep in the state of Victoria there is Winton.
group b is fucking insane holy sshit
Your stuff is great Man, subscribed.
Jeff Gordon retired earlier than he wanted to I think. He should have won the 2014 title (also robbed of 04, and 05). But Ryan Newman wrecks a driver to advance when he was a 16th place driver that year! Jeff Gordon I think had at least 2 years left… I was hoping for 24 in the 24
I would have never expected a Caretaker song to be in a Slapshoes vid but I think it really sells the thesis
I watched NASCAR for 40 years. Went to MIS every year since skipping high school and watching qualifying on Fridays. LOVED IT. Then? Then they gave a parade to some guy who saw 'nooses' in what the FBI (sic) finally concluded were GARAGE PULL DOWNS. A parade. They gave him a parade. Never watched another lap. Never will.
You know, despite achieving white collar status rn, I want to buy a can of SPAM just to see how bad it is. Kraft Dinner with baked spam would be the quintessential " I rip off my entire nation by living on welfare and refusing to get a job " food.
Great material, not overtalked, to the point yet specific and acurate. Thank you
I just searched for What is spam and left with the entire history under 10 min. Great, great video
Every person who's played call of duty is very familiar with this gun
I remember the "farce" of a US Grand Prix. It wasn't just the track; the Michelin teams were running tire pressures below the minimum recommended pressures. Thus, too much flex in the tire walls and bang. I would like to see F1 back at Indy though I doubt if that would ever happen.
Is there anything about the Indian curse at Talladega? I'm from Talladega still live here literally 5 minutes away from the track and I've never heard of any curse
The natives called the place Tallateegee or "border town" and were pushed out during the trail of tears. Allegedly their shamman put a curse on their land so that all who inhabited it after them would run into misfortune.
